archeological ruins, are situated here and are at walking distance from
the Golden Buddha Hotel.
Along with Bodh Gaya, Sarnath
is a seat of Buddhism.Many Buddhist temples such as the Mahabodhi society,
Thrangu rinpoche’s Tibetan Kargu monastery, the Tibetan Institute etc
are located here and are close by to the hotel.
Varanasi
is famous for the Golden Vishwanath Temple,river Ganges or Ganga (in Hindi)
and its steep ghats that lead down to the river. The cremation ghats have
been burning since 5000 years! |
